Pay-Off Stand Manufacturers in India
Sai Extrumech is a leading pay-off stand manufacturer in India, building the pay-off systems that feed conductor into a cable extrusion line at a precise, constant tension. The pay-off sits at the start of the line and unwinds wire or conductor from a bobbin or drum, delivering it smoothly to the extruder and crosshead. If pay-off tension is uneven, the conductor can wander in the crosshead and the insulation goes off-centre, so a well-built pay-off is essential to concentric, in-spec cable.

What Is a Pay-Off Stand?
A pay-off stand holds the supply bobbin or drum of bare or stranded conductor and releases it into the line as the cable is drawn forward. It maintains steady back-tension using either a passive brake or an active (motor-driven) drive with a dancer or load-cell tension control. Constant tension keeps the conductor centred through the crosshead so the insulation is applied evenly around it.
Our Pay-Off Stands
- Passive pay-offs – brake-controlled, cost-effective for lighter conductors
- Active (motorised) pay-offs – powered drive with dancer/load-cell tension control for heavy drums and high line speeds
- Portal and cantilever designs to suit your bobbin and drum sizes
- Dual pay-offs with accumulator for continuous, non-stop production
- Matched to your conductor range and synchronised with the haul-off and take-up

Why Choose Sai Extrumech
- 25+ years manufacturing cable-line pay-off systems in Faridabad, India
- Precise, constant-tension control for concentric insulation
- Built standalone or integrated into a complete extrusion line
- Durable construction for continuous industrial production
- Exports to UAE, UK, South Africa, Bangladesh, Nepal & Sri Lanka
Applications
Our pay-off stands are used in power cable, building wire, solar, optical fibre, submersible and LAN cable lines. They work in tandem with our caterpillar haul-offs and take-up units. See our complete extrusion line range.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an active and passive pay-off?
A passive pay-off uses a brake to hold back-tension and suits lighter conductors; an active pay-off uses a motor with dancer or load-cell control for heavy drums and high line speeds, giving more precise tension.
Can a pay-off stand run continuously without stopping to change drums?
Yes – a dual pay-off with an accumulator lets you splice in a new drum while the line keeps running, enabling continuous production.
Do you match the pay-off to my conductor size?
Yes. We size the pay-off to your bobbin/drum dimensions and conductor range and synchronise it with the rest of your line.
